Deze is alleen in het nederlands want ik heb geen zin om twee keer onzin te schrijven.
In February 2005 we left Holland. Tony was transfered to Australia and the rest tagged along. We moved to Cherrybrook (Sydney). In June 2007 we moved to Hong Kong. We lived in Hong Lok Yuen (New Territories)In July 2009 we moved to Singapore. Via this Blog we try to keep our family, friends and everybody else who comes by up to date with our day to day life. There is a Dutch version followed by an English one. We invite you to leave a comment or sign our guestbook.

Here we are again after having had a little bit of a break from blogging. I haven't got an excuse for it, but you know how it is always saying I'm gonna start tomorrow. So, what have we done last week? I'm digging for information. Okay, Lotte had her student led conference. She was very proud when she showed us her favorite assignments she has made since she came here. She guided us from the school hall all the way up to her class room on the third floor (no lift) with her portfolio tucked under her arm. She showed us what she has worked on and was happily chatting away with me and Tony as listeners. We are very proud of her and the boys, but they had their conference last month.
Last week I bought a pool for in the garden. There is a pool here in Hong Lok Yuen, but whenever we go there during the week, our whole schedule gets messed up. Somehow we can't seem to tear ourselves away from there, especially when friends of the kids show up, then they don't want to leave and then it's a drama to get them to do their home work, yadayada.... . The only thing I hope is that it fits in our garden, it's quite big. Otherwise I will have big trouble with my husband whom I didn't include in this enterprise.
Youri auditioned for the school musical this year. They are going to perform 'The Wizard Of Oz' just before the summer holiday starts in July. He made it through the first round. Thanks, Joe Grube for making him like to perform.
I have been to Shenzhen twice in the past week. Not because I love to hear the 'throat clearing' and burping and other bodily noises, but because I needed summer clothes and at Lo Wu shopping mall you can buy fabric and have clothes tailored. I went with Karolien, a friend of mine and I bought 12 pieces of fabric. I had 5 linnen pants, 2 tunics, 1 skirt, 2 blouses and 2 shirts tailored. Everything together cost me less than 120 Euro, that includes fabric and tailoring. I had brought in my favorite linnen pants and they dit a great job copying them, now I have 5 pair of favorite linnen pants.
On Saturday we left for Shenzhen again, this time with Tony, Bernd and Almudena but now the destination was Dafen the Oil painting village. After a gruelling trip in a taxi with loose seats and a strange rattling coming from underneath the car we finally arrived. The weather was awful, but we still managed to find the shop, where we had ordered a painting of Sydney in February. There are hundreds of little shops there, all side by side and they all look the same. It's like a maze. Also here averything costs next to nothing. If you want 'The Sunflowers' by Van Gogh, the 'Monalisa' or any other masterpiece you can find it there. If It's not there you can order it, no problem., they will have it ready for you in a week's time. We ended up buying two other paintings, one of tulips and one of a street in Hong Kong.
And last but not least I don't want to deny you our fruit bowl. Sajee (our helper) goes to the market every Friday to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. This week's fruit bowl was so pretty I couldn't NOT make a photo. Delish!
