Lotte en Jelle PADI

Lotte en Jelle hebben allebei hun PADI Junior open water diver gehaald. Nu heeft het hele gezin Moes een duik certificaat en nu worden de vakanties dus echt duur.

We zijn wel trots op hun hoor eerst drie dagen theorie, naar een dvd kijken en dan een boek lezen en vragen beantwoorden als op school. Er is wel wat veranderd in die 3 jaar dat wij de cursus deden. Geen tabellen meer maar een "fancy" calculator en tegenwoordig krijg je een DVD bij het boek zodat ze het thuis nog eens na kunnen lezen.

Het was wel leuk om ze bezig te zien met hun oefeningen terwijl wij wat dieper aan het duiken warern

Goed gedaan jongens.

Both Lotte and Jelle are now certified PADI Junior Open Water divers. Which means the whole Moes clan is now certified and we can go diving together. This also means that holidays will get shorter but more expensive as diving is not cheap.

We are very proud of the two of them. The first three days were filled with theory. Watching DVD's reading books and answering questions. Somethings have changed in the three years since we did it, no more diving tables, now they get a fancy calculator and just have to typ in the time and depth and done. Things get easier.

It was fun to see hwo they interacted with Tim the diving instructor and to see them do their skills while we were doing a dive in the same area.

Redang

Eindelijk vakantie, en we hebben het verdiend. De laatste paar maanden zijn erg druk geweest. Eigenlijk ben ik niet thuis geweest sinds we terug zijn gekomen uit Nederland. Ik zat het eens te tellen maar in de laatste 3 maanden ben ik in 10 landen geweest, en in sommige meer dan 1 keer.  Dat is een beetje over de top. De komende weken lijken een beetje rustiger maar niet veel. En dus is deze vakantie lekker. Alhoewel het werk nooit helemaal weg is tenzij San de laptop en de BB in de zee smijt.

Zaterdag morgen kwam ik om 7 uur 's ochtends terug vanuit Shanghai en na een paar uutjes slaap stapten we rond 11 uur in de auto voor de reis naar Redang. Eerst rond 10 uur in de auto naar Kuala Terengganu en dan nog een klein uurtje varen. We hadden een heeel heeel goedkoop hotel geboekt in KT maar zelfs dat geld was het niet waard, maar het was maar voor een nachtje.

De volgende ochtend op de boot naar Redang en daar zitten we nu lekker onder een palm boom te niksen. Lotte en Jelle zijn druk bezig om hun PADI te halen en wij proberen zo min mogelijk te doen.

Finally a break. It's been crazy the last couple of months. I have only been home for the weekends in the last three months and it's starting to take its toll on us. The kids don't recognise me when I come home and Coffee the dog tries to bite me whenever I come close, Sandra is the only one that is really pleased to see me, must be love as it makes you blind.

The last couple of months I've been in 10 countries, some of them twice. Luckily Linde has now asked us to travel less which should help a little even thoug I have to go to Thailand and the US in April.

But now we are on holiday, not completly ofcourse unless Sandra throws both the lap top and BB in the see, but we are on holiday. We took the car for a 10 hour drive to Kuala Terangganu where we arrived Sarturday evening late and spent the night in a very very cheap hotel (still too expensive) and on Sunday morning we took a little boat out to go to Redang.

And here we are sitting under a palm tree, very nice. Lotte and Jelle are doing their PADI while Sandra and Youri are updating their Facebook (Boo!).

We are going to do our first dive in a long time later today, heaven!

Artistiek / Artisitc

Onze kinderen hebben het waarschijnlijk van een vreemde, of van hun moeder, maar ze zijn allemaal erg bezig met acteren, zingen en muziek, OK de een wat meer dan de ander maar tohc doen ze het allemaal met een hoop plezier.

Lotte en Youri hadden allebei "sprekende" rollen in de GESS productie van Julius Ceasar. Dit betekende dat ze weken achter elkaar de hele zterdag bezig waren met oefenen.

Daarnaast zitten Jelle en Lotte allebei op muziek les. Lotte doet gitaar en zang en Jelle krijgt piano les en zit sinds kort op percussion of street drums.

Ik moet zeggen je voelt je toch wel trots als je kind daar op een podium staat om op te treden. Ze zullen nooit Idols of The Voice winnen maar voor mij zijn ze de beste.

I don't know where they get it from, probably from their mother, but all our kids are very involved in some kind of performing arts.

Jelje who is the least driven of the three is "playing" the piano and since a couple of weeks he has taken up street drums or percussion.

Both Lotte and Youri had "talking" roles in GESS production of Julius Ceasar and I must say I was impressed by their performance, they grew immense compaired to last year.

Beside this Lotte also is learning how to play the guitar and during this year's performance she surprised us as she also sang. It is already hard to play the guitar but to sing as well, very good.

You feel so proud seeing your offspring on stage! They will probably never win Idols or the Voice but for me they are all superstars.

Facebook

Ik moet toch even klagen over Facebook. Sinds Sas op Facebook zit wil ze niet meer zoveel op de website schrijven. Nou deed ze dat al niet zo vaak maar het hielp toch om de "flow" er in te houden vooral als ik veel aan het reizen ben. Zelf zit ik niet op Facebook, en dat blijft ook zo, dus ik heb het recht om een beetje te klagen.

Ze zegt dat het zo makkelijk is om een fotootje te posten of een paar zinnen neer te ploffen, maar voor mij is het het toch net niet, sorry maar zo ben ik nou eenmaal.

Dus het kan zijn dat er wat grotere gaten in onze postings zitten of dat er een aantal vlak achter elkaar komen, maar ik doe echt mijn best om het up to date te houden. Als je wilt klagen moet je bij Sas zijn of bij Facebook maar die luisteren toch niet.

In de tussentijd kun je stiekem op Sas d'r Facebook page kijken, maar je moet het mij niet vertellen.


OK I have to do a bit of complaining about Facebook. I normally write most of the postings but Sandra usually fills the gaps when I'm travelling or are very busy.

but since she is on Facebook her effort has been declining, she claims it is so much easier to upload a picture or to scribble a couple of lines on Facebook, you can do it everywhere.

Mhhh, I 'm not on Facebook as you might gather and I will not join in he foreseeable future so I can complain.

So if there are gaps in our postings or there are a couple of postings close together, you should complain to Sandra and Facebook and not to me.

in the mean time you can secretly check her Facebook page, but don't tell me.
