Jelle Golf

Afgelopen zondag heb ik Jelle voor het eerst meegenomen naar de driving range. Al een paar maanden vroeg hij of hij een keer mee mocht.

Zaterdag zaten we op de club met Nathan en die vertelde dat hij met zijn zoontje de volgende dag een balletje ging meppen en van het een kwam het ander.

Dus met een geleend setje (van Nathan) heeft Jelle zijn eerste 60 ballen geslagen, en ik moet zeggen hij deed het beter dan ik met mijn eerste 600 ballen (of misschien wel iets meer).

Hij wil nu op les, en Lotte ook (hmm wordt een dure grappemakerij) maar OK je houdt van ze en dus zeg je ja. Nog effe wachten of Nathan's spruit ook meegaat maar anders zondag ochtend eerste les terwijl papa een rondje loopt op de vernieuwde 9 holes

Jelle has been asking if he could play golf with me ever since I brought my set to Krabi in March and last Sunday it finally happened. On Saturday we were having dinner with Nathan and Eva at the club and Nathan told us he was going to the drivingrange to hit some balls with Felix the next day, so a good opportunity for Jelle to the come as well.

And I think he has more talent than his dad for golf. OK most dads will say this but he could hold the club, and some of the balls even went up. Not bad for a first time.

He enjoyed it so much that he wants to take lessons. So next week Jelle, and Lotte, together with some of Nathans off-spring will start lessons, which hopefully result in me quitting my job and managing their career. But for now I'm happy with just walking a round on the new 9 hole course while they enjoy their lessons.

Schaatsen/ Skating

Het was vandaag een beetje warm en de kids hebben nog steeds vakantie, dus wat doe je dan.

Precies, schaatsen!!

Caroline kwam ook over vanuit Maleisie met Max en Celine en we hebben er een gezellig middagje van gemaakt.

Nou kunnen die jongens van ons niet echt schaatsen (zijn geen echte Nederlanders) dus ze hadden een beetje hulp nodig. In Nederland zou dit een stoel zijn, in Singapore een zeehond (logisch). Na twee uur hadden ze het toch een beetje koud.

Dus met z'n allen naar de club om op te warmen in het zwembad en lekker wat te eten.

It was a bit hot today and it's still school holiday. The kids were a bit bored so we decided it would be a good idea to do some ice skating in the afternoon. Make sense doesn't it? Caroline joined with Max and Celine from Malaysia, and the kids had a lot of fun at JCube Ice rink.

Our kids are not the best skaters (they left Holland too soon) to be honest they are worse then "not good", but they try and that is what counts. In Holland they would use a chair to practice behind, in Singapore they use a plastic seal (I fail to see the connection?).

Afterwards swimming in the pool to warm up and dinner at the club.
