bootje varen/ row your boat
Another great day at the beach. This time Canadian Linda had rented a Junk for the day. You can fit about 40 people on there. You split the costs and it ends up being very affordable.
This time the destination was Dai Long Wan Beach. It's a two hour trip from Sai Kung. The sun was shining after two weeks of pouring rain and we got to meet some more HLY families. Little by little the children won't have to introduce themselves anymore when they finally go back to school in two weeks.
The plan was to load up the dinghi with towels food and the smallest children, row to the beach and spend the day over there and have a picknick, but the waves were a little high so we decided to just take the children and eat on board later. Most of us and our children however just swam ashore.
Jelle was hanging onto Tony's neck most of the time and Lotte brought a floaty just to be safe. In hindsight we should have brought the boogieboards as the waves were high enough to have some fun with them. Even surfers were trying their luck catching a little wave or two, of course nothing compared to Bondi or Manly.
Youri didn' t even get out of the water the whole time. He has these competitions with the waves. Who can keep standing the longest. He told me it was boring to dive under the waves, well as long as he is fine with it.
After about one and a half hour we swam back to the boat and we had some lunch. The children started jumping off the upper deck and had a lot of fun with that. When we arrived back in Sai Kung at six we had a couple of very quiet kids in the back of the car and we didn't hear a peep out of them when we brought them to bed at eight pm.
