weer op zoek/ the search is on again

Vandaag zijn we weer op huizenjacht gegaan, want het huis dat we op het oog hadden is van de markt gehaald. De eigenaars moesten een aantal aanbouwen weghalen, omdat ze die illegaal hadden neergezet. Hun advoaat had ze geadviseerd om het huis van de markt af te halen en eerst alles in orde te maken voordat ze het weer konden verhuren. Dat zou dus betekenen dat ze met die verbouwingen wel tot November zoet zijn en zolang kunnen en willen wij natuurlijk niet wachten. Vandaag dus 4 huizen bekeken. Een huis viel eigenlijk meteen af, aangezien er nog mensen in wonen en eigenlijk willen we wel redelijk snel verhuizen, onze spullen staan tenslotte al een week in de haven te wachten.

Het eerste huis is net verbouwd en heeft een lekkere tuin, maar de keuken is vrij klein en de koelkast moet in een andere ruimte staan, onhandig dus. Dit huis heeft ook een aantal ingebouwde kasten (niet echt mijn smaak) waardoor je eigenlijk beperkt wordt in je indeling.

Het tweede huis heeft een grotere keuken en veel kamers, wel een beetje donker en de tuin heeft niet echt veel plek voor het tuinstel, maar wel twee mangobomen en een soort Lychee boom.

Het derde huis is ook leuk, en heeft een grote woonkamer en eetkamer maar minder kamers en een erg zonnige tuin (wat hier niet altijd even lekker is). We hebben nu de makelaar de opdracht gegeven om te gaan vragen of de tuin van het tweede huis heringedeeld kan worden, waarmee we meer bruikbare ruimte creëren. Als dat mogelijk is kiezen we waarschijnlijk voor dat huis. De fotoos staan boven de omschrijvingen van de huizen, ik hoop dat dat duidelijk genoeg is.

We went house hunting again today, because the house we had decided on was taken off the market. The owners were ordered to take a couple of extensions off the house, because they were built without permission. Their lawyer advised them to take the house off the market, fix everything and then put it up for rent, which could take them until November to realise. And of course we can't and don't want to wait that long. So today we visited 4 houses. One of the houses we dismissed, because people were still living in it and we would really want to move in quickly as our stuff has already been waiting for us in Hong Kong harbour for about a week now.The first house has been newly renovated and has a nice garden, but the kitchen is quite small and we have to put the fridge in a different space because there is no allocated spot in the kitchen for it. It also has quite some fixed cabinets in the other rooms, which limits the spaces for our own stuff (plus it's not really my taste). The second house has a big kitchen and a lot of rooms, but is little dark and although the garden is quite big doesn't really have a terrace to put our furniture, but it does have two mango trees and a Lychee tree. The third house has a large dining and living area, but has less rooms, and a very sunny garden, with no shady area which could be a bit of a problem in this heat here in Hong Kong. We have asked our real estate agent to ask the landlord if they want to change the garden of the second house to make it a more usable space. If that is a possibility we will probably choose that house. I put the pictures with the Dutch version. The first three pictures are the first house, then the second and after that the third, I hope it's clear.
