Lotte zeilen / Lotte Sailing

Vorige week zondag zijn we naar de Sail club geweest. De Dutch club heeft een partnership met hun en we dachten kom leuk een keertje naar het water. Lotte heeft voor het eerst in haar eentje gezeild. Gewoon het bootje in en knallen, heen en terug zonder problemen. Gelukkig was er wel een mannetje in een bootje in de buurt want de super tankers die op weg zijn naar de haven van Singapore zijn toch aardig groot. Ik moest aan mijn eerste surf ervaring denken 30 jaar geleden, een paar hondered meter recht vooruit en toen een paar honderd meter terug zwemmen, omdat ik niet tegen de wind in kon. Gelukkig is Lotje wat beter. Helaas is de video wat kort want de batterij was echt leeeeeeg.

Two week ago we went to the Singapore Sailing Club. The Dutch club has a partnership with them so we can go there for free. We went with a small group, the weather was nice and we thought it would be fun to spend the day at the water. We had a lot of fun, there was a banana boat and you could use the small sail boats if you wanted. Lotte took her chance and hopped on one and took off one her own with out any help. She sailed out and back again without any problem, we were very proud. We were also happy that there was a man in a boat keeping an eye on her as these tankers (going to Singapore harbour) are very big and don't stop easy. The video is very short as we ran out of battery.

I had to think about my first surfing experience, I remember thinking "This is easy" when going straight for a couple of hundered meters. Late in the afternoon when I swam back the same distance I realized there is a real difference between sailing with the wind and against it.
