Zaterdag met hindernissen/ Saturday with obstacles
Het weekend is weer begonnen en we hadden voor vandaag de planning totaal verknoeid. We wilden graag een keertje naar het strand, maar ook stond de nieuwe film van Harry Potter hoog op het verlanglijstje. We gingen dus pas rond een uur of 12 op pad (veel te laat, natuurlijk), terwijl we ook al op het internet de kaartjes voor de bios hadden besteld voor half 4. Onderweg naar het strand, veel verkeer tegen gekomen, en uiteindelijk rond 1 uur in Stanley. Toen naar het Murray House, een ontzettend mooie plek om gezellig te gaan lunchen.
Ook dat duurde natuurlijk veel te lang en uiteindelijk waren we daar om 10 over half 3 klaar. We moesten toen met een rotvaart terug naar Tsim Sha Tsui om op tijd te zijn voor de film. En tot overmaat van ramp kwamen we op de terugweg ook weer in een file terecht.
We hoopten dat de voorstukjes van de film lekker lang zouden duren, zodat we niet de halve film moesten missen, maar helaas was hij al begonnen toen we kwamen binnenvallen. Ik heb het gevoel alsof we vandaag continue achter de feiten hebben aangelopen. Thuis gekomen maar een lekker sateetje klaargemaakt met de afgeprijsde varkenshaasjes die ik van de week had gekocht en in de vriezer had gegooid. Ook het vlees is hier erg duur. Stokbroodje met zelfgemaakte saté saus en kruidenboter erbij, heerlijk. Morgen hebben we nog een dag om het goed te maken.The weekend has started and we messed up our whole schedule for today. We wanted to go to the beach, but the new Harry Potter movie is out so we wanted to watch that one, too. We left at about noon (of course far too late), while we had purchased our movie tickets for the 3.30 pm showing on the internet. We ran into a lot of traffic on the way to the beach and arrived in Stanley at about 1pm. We thought it would be nice to get our lunch at the very nice Murray House.
Of course that took some time, too. By the time we were finished it was 2.40pm. I guess the beach had to wait for another time. With the pedal to the metal we raced back to Tsim Sha Tsui hoping the trailers at the beginning of the film would take nice and long, so we wouldn't miss the start. Unfortunately we ended up getting into a traffic jam, and missing the start of the movie. 
After we came home after the movie we had a nice saté with a delicious french bread and homemade garlic butter and saté sauce. We have another day to put things right tomorrow.

Tja soms heb je van die dagen.......... Ook nog even wennen natuurlijk hoe lang het allemaal duurt met het verkeer en zo. Pech hoor!

The pictures look great!! Glad you are settling in HK well - you're seasoned travelers in another locale.
Glad you enjoyed Disneyland - the Golden Mickeys theater was designed by friends of ours from LA who moved to HK for just 6 months to finish the project (instant friends for Natalie, as their son and Nat were classmates in preschool). The kids loved Mickey's Philharmagic, I hope (absolute fun)...if you get to go back, the manager of the Starliner Diner is an old friend of mine. :)
Interesting fun: the museums in HK are usually free admission on Wednesdays. HK History Museum is across from the Science Museum, and you've probably visited the Space Museum.
We've got two weeks left before the kids are back in school. It's probably another month before the kids start school? (many schools just got off for summer holidays in HK) It's still very cold here, though.
Looking out at the view you have of HK Harbour, I have to say your view is much nicer than ours was!

Via wereldexpat ben ik op jullie blog gekomen en dacht van laat ikd an ook meteen een reactie achter laten. Ben vandaag in NL naar de Harry potter film geweest, ik vond het een griezelig en spannende film. Veel su6 met jullie nieuwe expat leven in Hong Kong.
