duiken / diving

We proberen ons duikbrevet te halen, Sas Youri en ik zijn de afgelopen twee weken heel druk bezig om te leren hoe je onderwater bezig kunt zijn. Samen met vier andere "hollanders" doen we op de club onze Open water cursus. Dat betekent dus DVD kijken om de theorie onder de knie te krijgen, in het zwembad je binnen duiken te doen en afgelopen zondag onze eerste buiten duik.

Met de theorie en de binnenduiken ging alles goed maar Youri kreeg last op, of eigenlijk onder de zee, hij kreeg hoofdpijn en werd een beetje misselijk, waarschijnlijk toch de spanning en te ondiep ademen, CO2 ophoping in het bloed (zie je wel dat ik heb opgelet).

Komende zondag nieuwe kansen en dan hebben we ook ons eind examen. En dan op naar tropische wateren en mooie vissen.

We are trying to get our diving certificate, the last two weeks Youri Sandra and I have been studying, watching DVD's and doing all kinds of test exams to learn about diving so we can get our "open water diving certificate" from PADI. Beside that we have been doing our confined water dives in the club pool, and of course there were the typical Chinese complaints from "other club members" while nobody was in the water. But also a lot of positive remarks from Youri's friends on how cool they thought it was that he was learning how to dive.

Last sunday we had the first open water dive but Youri had to cut it short, he was feeling dizzy and had a head ache probably due to the fact he was breathing to shallow, which causes CO2 build up in the blood, so he has so he has to do at least one more dive after next Sundays (final) exam dive.




After that it is looking for a tropical destination to see some ncie under water things as in HK it is not really special.
